Sometimes it ain’t easy being green. Going green with hair products can be tough since we love the items we already use.

If you’re a health nut, you already know the healthy and powerful treatment that olive oil, eggs, and oatmeal can do for your hair. But if you’re not into going ‘girl v. wild’ by creating your own hair products, try these healthy, green-friendly hair products. Your hair will thank you.

Sexy Hair Products

It’s tough finding green-friendly products that are also good for mixed chicks. In comes Sexy Hair products, which are light, with the best combo of soy and tri-wheat. Their shampoo is suds free and the leave-in conditioner provides moisture and all day shine. Sexy hair, indeed.

Lush’s Curly Wurly Products

If you love hair products with a kick, look no further than Lush’s Curly Wurly Collection. Their products are green-friendly, with the containers created from recycled bottles and black pots. Plus, when you return an empty bottle to one of their stores, you get a free facemask! It’s also perfect for thick hair and includes natural fruit ingredients like papaya, cocoa butter, and free range eggs – and it smells great.

Giovanni Straight Fast Straightening Elixir

Since winter does a number on your hair, it’s best to stay free of any wet looks and put that flat iron to use. Unfortunately, flat irons act as double edge sword; causing breakage and dryness on the ends. So check out Giovanni’s straightening serum. Applying this to your hair before using the flat iron keeps the strands strong and requires less heat.

DevaCurl Styling Cream

You don’t have to have crazy curls to enjoy DevaCurl natural products. In fact, many natural products are geared towards women with curly hair to reduce breakage. DevaCurl Styling Cream leaves hair soft and keeps the fly-aways gone. It’s also 100 percent sulfate, paraben, and silicone free.

Paul Mitchell Tea Tree Shampoo Collection

Paul Mitchell’s tea tree collection will make you feel happy and green. You’ll also have the fresh spa feeling, but at half the cost. Some of its main ingredients include mint leaves, lavender, and lemon sage with original tea tree oils that help thicken hair and leave it moisturized.

Brushes and Combs

Plastic brushes and combs are easy to use, but can do major damage to your hair. Try non-plastic options like wooden brushes. They may have a manly look, but they save your hair! Start with Kent’s Hair brushes and combs. They’re made from cellulose acetate, a non-petroleum based plastic from plants. Oh, and did we mention less frizz?

Old T-Shirts

When it comes to drying your hair, old tees are the best replacement for towels. The cotton fibers won’t rid your hair of moisture and leave it feeling nice and smooth. You may look a little silly, but who cares when you’re going green?

Palette By Nature

For the girl who loves to dye her hair frequently, we know about the flat and dry look it gives you later. Palette By Nature is a special hair-coloring product made from plants and free of harmful chemicals normal dyes use. Learn more about their products here.
