Time to bundle up. Again.

Snow has plagued the tri-state area for weeks now, but a weather front moving that way is set to dump another 10 inches of the cold stuff in the region, no doubt crippling post-Super Bowl travel plans and creating some gridlock traffic.

According to NBC New York, over three inches have already hit the ground as of 10 a.m. Monday. A number of flights leaving NYC have been canceled and an inch of snow is expected to come down every hour.

What began as rain in the early morning transitioned to heavy snow for the commute, and forecasters say it could fall as fast as 1 to 2 inches per hour until the mid-afternoon. The highest totals are expected in northern Monmouth, Middlesex, Somerset and Hunterdon counties in New Jersey, where 10 inches are forecast. New York City and the south shore of Long Island are forecast to get between 6 and 8 inches, with areas north and inland seeing between 3 and 6 inches.

However, the cold isn’t as bad as it was at the height of January’s polar vortex. At a current 32 degrees, the low will only fall in the 20s. It is also expected to snow Wednesday and Saturday.

Guess we can all thank Groundhog Punxsutawney Phil for predicting six more weeks of winter.
