When it comes to fashion, everything Solange touches turns to Technicolor goodness, and in a world of black and black (sorry, we’re New Yorkers) a punch of brightness is always appreciated. Which is why we were nothing short of enthralled with the finished product of Solange’s first foray with PUMA: the PUMA x Solange “Girls of Blaze” Sneaker Lookbook.
The songstress and fashion icon teamed with PUMA as their Creative Director and the outcome was what we’re going to call PUMA’s best lookbook to date. Solange joined forces with New York-based William Okpo, a Nigerian design label owned by sisters Darlene and Lizzy Okpo, Gerlan Marcel of Gerlan Jeans, and Hisham Bharoocha for visuals that exemplify exactly what we would expect from the fashion forward Texan: Color, color, and more color.
The lookbook, directed by Alan Ferguson, features four colorful designs of the shoes created by the New York artists, and although Solange isn’t photographed, she had her hands in the entire process. Check out the behind the scenes of Solange getting into things in the video here.
The sneakers will be unveiled on Saturday, February 9th, 2014.
