Full disclaimer: No words nor photos can do justice to seeing the work of Naeem Khan in motion on the runway, but I attempt to do it a service. When it comes to red carpet-ready fashion, Naeem Khan is the man with the dress plan. Everyone, and we mean everyone from Michelle Obama to Amber Rose have sported the designer’s pieces and based on his latest collection the momentum won’t be slowing down.

The theme of the night for the designer’s autumn winter 2014 collection was “decadent boudoir.” According to the designer, the collection is inspired by the sexy dark word of the cabaret and the daring confident attitude that defined it. The runway saw everything from soft floral patterns to metallic geometric embroidery and leopard prints fit for the woman who’s interested in tapping her inner lionesse.

As per his usual, Naaem went above, beyond, and returned to the runway with 44 looks of absolute perfection. I am not exaggerating when I say watching the movement of some of dresses, namely the silver and gold harlequin fringe dress, emitted actual verbal reactions from the crowd. And with faces like Ty Hunter and June Ambrose in the front row, we can expect to see Beyonce rocking one of these looks on the arm of Jay because Ty was snapping away pretty feverishly at more than a few looks.

Trends spotted: Boudoir decadence. Baroque embroideries, intricate bead work, and a return to red carpet glamour that exudes movie star, or cabaret dancer, levels of confidence.

Faces in the front row: June Ambrose, Ty Hunter, Ranjana Khan, Padma Lakshmi, Fern Mallis, Robert Verdi

My rating: Well-manicured hands down, the best formal collection I have seen all NYFW, I expect to see more than a few of these numbers styled to perfection for the Oscars and beyond. Also, Naeem is a pristine example of what a diverse runway looks like.

My favorite look: The silver and gold harlequin fringe dress. I want to see a Gwen Stefani or Rita Ora rock this with a bold red lip.

I predict Taylor Swift in this dress:

And Ty Hunter seemed to have his eye on this baby for Beyonce:
