Pickles the cat isn’t fat, he’s just big-boned.

The Boston-based rescue feline weighs in at a whopping 21 pounds and is 3 feet long. Pickles was even advertised as “Catasaurus Rex” on the Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals website.

Thankfully, Andrew Milicia and girlfriend Emily Zarvos met Pickles last month – and they formed an immediate bond with the hefty kitty.

Andrew, a graphic designer, said: “When we first saw Pickles he looked like such a beast – but he looked really cool. He’s actually bigger than some dogs.”

It seems like Pickles is not only large, he also had a problem playing nice with other cats.

“They said he had been adopted and taken to Canada but brought back because he really doesn’t get along with other cats,” says Andrew.

“…He doesn’t realize his size so he’ll knock things over all the time – he’s so clumsy. But it’s like so hard to be mad at him – he think he’s just like a little kitten still.”

In fact, Pickles might be part Maine Coon – one of the largest breeds of domestic cats.

“I struggle to pick him up sometimes cause he weighs so much,” says Emily.

But Emily and Andrew have no regrets about their large furry friend.

“I’m so happy we have him, he’s the best pet you could hope for.”
