Two dads from Baldwin, New York received a shocking surprise when they opened an RSVP to their daughter Sophia’s birthday party.
The mother of Sophia’s classmate, Tommy, wrote this message on the tie-dye invitation sent by the fathers:
“Tommy will NOT attend. I do not believe in what you do and will not subject my innocent son to your ‘lifestyle.'”
The note continued:
“I’m sorry Sophia has to grow up this way. If you have an issue or need to speak to me…”
The fathers, shocked and appalled at the message, handed the note to their local radio station, who then posted it to their Facebook page. Surprisingly, the mother gave the radio station permission for her phone number to be published and encouraged anyone with an issue to call her directly.
And the response? Naturally, no one was happy with her intolerance.
“I feel bad for Tommy. Growing up with a mother like that,” one commenter wrote.
Hate aside, the show must go on. The dads and Sophia are gearing up for her March 1st bash and hopefully, they won’t let one mean-spirited comment ruin a good time.
