Kanye West was an open book (as usual) during his Yeezus tour stop at Newark’s Prudential Center.
Recently, Drake got upset after Rolling Stone allegedly made it look like he had negative things to say about Kanye’s latest album for an interview, but big brother ‘Ye came to the rescue this past weekend in a new rant.
Kanye defended Drizzy as he told the crowd:
“Those magazines keep trying to put ni**as against each other. We love Drake, we ain’t letting that shit happen no more.”
He also sounds off about Macklemore and the Grammys:
“Macklemore know what it is, he tried, he made some good music, he’s a good kid, but y’all know what it is. Giving me 2 nominations is like giving a waiter a two-dollar tip, Macklemore know what it is”
He also made sure to explain why he’s switching to Adidas and leaving Nike:
“The idea that those Yeezys sold out in 11 minutes, yeah that’s good for my ego, good for my ego. The problem is there’s 20,000 of y’all and you know what? That’s not good for my people, for my people, for my people. I’m not here to be some type of novelty that you can put in a box, so you can say you’re the company that released the Yeezys. The reason why I made the decision between Adidas and Nike, is because Adidas said I could make more product for more people. The reason why I speak directly to Tim Cook, directly to Eric Schmidt, directly Mark Parker is cause I got a microphone and I can!”
Kanye didn’t stop there – the “On Sight” rapper also targeted the media during this candid rant. He made sure to let everybody know just how he felt about TMZ, E!, Barbara Walters, and more.
“Every media outlet, I don’t care who you are —TMZ, E!, Barbara Walters — don’t play yourself. Respect it as such,” exclaimed West. “’SNL,’ all you writers, Lorne Michaels. Respect it as such.”
“Cause when we standing face to face, you know who you’re looking at,
“This ain’t no mother*cking spoof, so play this sh*t back at your motherf*cking meetings when you’re writing your jokes,” he continued. “Play this sh*t back when you’re writing your headlines for your tabloids.”
“Write that mother*cking headline when you try to make me look like a maniac or an animal, because you afraid of interracial relationships, because you afraid of the future, because you afraid of a rapper that was raised by two educated parents.”
Surprisingly, the one thing Kanye wanted to stress towards the end was that he is not as angry as we all think!
“Don’t think that I’m upset, because I’m actually very, very happy.”
