A Georgia jury has found Raymond family friend Jeffrey Hubbard guilty of killing Usher’s stepson Kile Glover in a jet ski accident back in 2012.

According to the LA Times, Hubbard was found guilty on charges of serious injury by vessel, reckless operation, unlawful operation of personal watercraft and a boat traffic violation, which resulted in the 11-year-old’s death.

The incident occurred in 2012 when Usher and Tameka Foster Raymond’s son Kile and another child were floating on an inner tube in Lake Lenier, Georgia. Hubbard struck both children with a jet ski, leaving Kile knocked unconscious and a 15-year-old girl injured.

Kile was pronounced brain-dead a few days later and was taken off life support the following week. Defense attorneys say that Hubbard was trying to avoid the children while he was riding his jet ski, but witnesses claim he was driving erratically, with his hands in the air.

Tameka’s other son Usher V was involved in another incident last year, when the 5-year-old was caught in a pool drain. He was later hospitalized.

Tameka Raymond opened up about the verdict, maintaining that Hubbard would never intentionally harm her children.

“At the end of the day, I know he didn’t do it on purpose,” Foster Raymond told WSB, the Journal-Constitution reported.

Hubbard will be sentenced on March 5. Prayers are sent to Tameka and her family.
