A Michigan man has died after accidentally shooting himself on Monday while demonstrating gun safety to his girlfriend.
The man, whose name has not been released, was just 36-years-old.
According to the Detroit Free Press, the man was showing his girlfriend how safe his three handguns were when they weren’t loaded. His demonstration included holding the guns to his head and pulling the trigger.
The third gun fired, and the man was struck in the head. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The man’s girlfriend told authorities he had been drinking most of the day. Three children were in the home at the time of the incident, but did not witness the shooting.
