Dual label artist Travi$ Scott was recently featured in The Journal on Mr. Porter.com and he waved it out.

Signed as a producer to Kanye Wests production label G.O.O.D Beatsand as a recording artist on TI’s label Grand Hustle, the 19-year-old Texas native is slowly, but surely, making his mark in the music industry. Furthermore, as the marriage between music and fashion becomes more synonymous, Scott is definitely following in his mentor’s footsteps and stepping his fashion game all the way up.

In the Mr. Porter feature, Travi$ Scott’s outfits are absolutely dynamic, ranging from cable knit sweaters to embellished bomber jackets and Birkenstock sandals. Pieces were pulled from the finest collections, including Lanvin, Burberry, Thom Browne, Givenchy, Maison Martin Margiela, D&G and Balenciaga.

Following his photoshoot, Scott spoke candidly about his decision to drop out of college and pursue his dreams. He also shared his artistic inspiration and his primary purpose as a producer and recording artist.

Check out a few quotes from his interview below:

On his artistic inspiration:

“I’ve known I was going to make music since I was 13. I saw this one video of Ye on YouTube, making a beat in this yellow polo shirt, and thought: ‘I need to do that’. I always had the vision. I just thank God it worked out.”

On his decision to drop out of college:

“College prepares you for real life, doing a job, taking orders,” he says in a curious hybrid accent – part Southern drawl, part New York street kid, part Cali surfer dude. “

On his public influence:

“Musically, I just want to inspire so many people….One day Travi$ is going to be moving like The Beatles.”
