Typos. They’re a bitch.

Dan Patrick, a Texas state senator running for lieutenant governor, is no doubt kicking himself after accidentally tweeting that marriage is between “ONE MAN & ONE MAN,” on Wednesday, in protest of a Texas gay marriage ban being ruled unconstitutional.

Freudian slip, maybe?

Patrick, who meant to say marriage is between a woman and a man, deleted the tweet as soon as he realized his mistake. But it was too late. The internet got hold of it and nobody cares that he corrected his tweet to reflect his anti-gay views.

Nope, this Freudian masterpiece is much better to look at.

On the other side of the Twitter-sphere, a celebration was in order after a federal judge ruled that Texas’ ban on same-sex marriage unconstitutionally deprives some citizens of due process and equal protection under the law, by stigmatizing their relationships and treating them differently from opposite-sex couples.

“Today’s court decision is not made in defiance of the great people of Texas or the Texas Legislature, but in compliance with the U.S. Constitution and Supreme Court precedent,” Judge Orlando Garcia said in his order. “Without a rational relation to a legitimate governmental purpose, state-imposed inequality can find no refuge in our U.S. Constitution.”

For Patrick, that garnered yet another tweet.

But we just can’t ignore that glaring “mistake” he made. If it was a “mistake” at all.
