A 9-year-old was shot yesterday morning in Dallas, and while no one knows for sure who fired the bullet, her neighbor was later taken into custody for target practicing in his yard next door.
According to NBC, the girl is currently in critical condition at Children’s Medical Center Dallas, and the 20-year-old neighbor, Cristian Manzano, is in custody.
The site reports:
Officers took her 20-year-old neighbor into custody because he was target practicing in the yard next door. One bullet shattered a kitchen window at a home in the 400 block of West Yarmouth Street and struck the girl.
Dallas Police arrested Cristian Manzano. He is charged with a second degree felony: Injury to a Child-Serious Bodily Injury. He is also charged with a misdemeanor: Discharging in Municipality Greater than 100,000 residents.
There’s no word yet on if he will be charged but as of yesterday, he is still booked at the Dallas jail.
