We are praying that Russian and Ukraine don’t war but it’s looking like that may be a possibility in the very near future.

After a unanimous vote by Russia’s upper house of Parliament, this weekend President Vladimir Putin gave the greenlight to Russian troops for to invade Ukrainian territory, but did not specify where.

According to Voice Of America, Ukraine’s Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk has put his military on combat alert and has also warned Russia that an interventon by their military could mean war.

The site reports:

Russian legislators said they were insulted by U.S. President Barack Obama’s statement on Ukraine Friday, in which Obama said the U.S. is “deeply concerned by reports of military movements taken by the Russian Federation inside of Ukraine.”

Obama went on to say there would be “costs for any military intervention in Ukraine.”

The White House says Obama held a 90 minute phone conversation with Putin Saturday, in which he expressed deep concern for what the United States calls a clear violation of Ukrainian sovereignty and international law.

After his phone conversation with Obama, President Putin explained that he reserves the right to protect Russia if there is violence in Crimea or eastern Ukraine. As we all know, Kiev is in shambles due to the current political crisis in Ukraine, which has resulted in a lot of bloodshed, many injuries, and death.

We hope the two countries find a way to avoid an all out war.
