A day after President Obama denounced Russia’s actions against the Ukraine, telling reporters that the country was on the “wrong side of history,” Russian President Vladimir Putin defended those actions. “The only thing we had to do, and we did it, was to enhance the defense of our military facilities because they were constantly receiving threats and we were aware of the armed nationalists moving in,” he said in his first news conference since the conflict in Ukraine. Here’s some good news. Wendy Davis, the Texas State Senator who emerged on the national scene during her famous filibuster of an abortion bill, is officially the Democratic nominee for governor. But then women in Alabama took a hit on their reproductive rights. The Alabama House of Representatives passed a bill on Tuesday that would ban abortions after a fetal heartbeat can be detected, according to a state lawmaker. Read about it here…[HuffPost]

And in other news, police may release video clips of Justin Bieber after his January arrest. Naked clips. Miami-Dade County Judge William Altfield said two of the five unreleased video clips depict the singer’s genitalia during a urine test for drugs at the Miami Beach Police Department.
