Jourdan Dunn is so much more than just a pretty face.

For the second issue of Miss Vogue, the rising star in the fashion industry lends her good looks to the cover, and while she looks amazing, we’re more impressed with what she had to say.

For an industry as beautiful as fashion, the issue rears its ugly head time and time again, and the lack of diversity we see during fashion week is an annual reminder of how much more work there is to do.

In the mag, the 23-year-old opened up about her experiences, adding fire to fashion’s racial debate:

“I find it weird when agents say, ‘You’re the only black girl booked for the show. Isn’t it great?’ Why is it great? I don’t know why people applaud designers for having just one ethnic model,” she says. “It’s not like only one type of woman loves fashion. I don’t know why people applaud designers for having just one ethnic model. It’s not like only one type of woman loves fashion.”

The girl is beauty and brains. And another plus: she’s besties with Beyonce. What’s not to love?

You can find out what Jourdan had to say about being buddies with Queen Bey when the issue hits stands inside British Vogue on March 10. For now, check out more online.
