Scott Kalvert, best known for directing the 1995 film “Basketball Diaries” died on Wednesday, according to a confirmed THR report.
The 49-year-old was found in his Woodland Hills, L.A. home and pronounced dead at 1:55pm. Also, according to the site, the L.A. Coroner’s office is investigating his death as a possible suicide.
Not only did Kalvert do amazing work with Leonardo DiCaprio and Mark Wahlberg in “Basketball Diaries” but he had a hand in producing some very iconic videos, including DJ Jazzy Jeff and Will Smith’s “Parents Just Don’t Understand,” as well as Salt-N-Pepa’s “Shoop.”
Kalvert’s most recent credit was for serving as executive producer on the 2009 made-for-TV Nickelodeon musical “School Gyrls.”
