It’s a sad, sad day in the fashion world.

Last month, Rachel Roy debuted her Fall 2014 collection, marking the tenth year anniversary for her namesake designer line, but it looks as though we won’t be seeing it on store racks any time soon.

Rumors say Rachel has been seeking new ownership since last year, but according to WWD, the line, which was sold in stores like Bloomingdale’s, Neiman Marcus and Saks, is being discontinued.

The Jones Group, who has held a 50 percent stake in Rachel Roy’s business since 2008, is currently being sold to Sycamore Partners and has decided that the collection “didn’t fit in with Jones’ overall strategic direction.”

The good news is that Jones will continue production of the RACHEL Rachel Roy contemporary collection for Macy’s, and Roy reportedly has plans to finance herself in the future. The bad news is that no other details have been confirmed.

We hope this isn’t the end and look forward to whatever she may have up her stylish sleeve.
