This is different. A new teaser trailer for the X-Men film, X-Men: Days of Future Past, was released via Instagram yesterday.
The sequel to 2011’s X-Men: First Class, Days of Future Past finds the superheroes teaming up with their younger selves for an all out battle “that must change the past – to save their future.” Check out the teaser above and watch out for the actual trailer, set to premiere next week.
One of our favorite funny-men, Steve Carell, is putting his comedy on hold and getting into drama. Carell is set to star in and produce The Priority List: A Teacher’s Final Quest to Discover Life’s Greatest Lessons, based on a memoir by David Menasche.
Hollywood Reporter describes the plot:
In 2006, Menasche, then a Miami high school teacher, was told he only had a few months left to live after being diagnosed with brain cancer. He managed to extend his life via several surgeries and years of chemo but a seizure in 2012 ended his teaching career.
Four years after Brittany Murphy‘s tragic death, her final film Something Wicked finally gets a release date. The drama is set to open April 2nd at Regal Theater in Eugene, Oregon (where filming took place) and then expand to theaters nationwide.
US Weekly reports:
“The film’s premise is based around a young newlywed couple, whose marriage is sabotaged by a manipulative, psychotic acquaintance. Shantel VanSanten, John Robinson, James Patrick Stuart, and Julian Morris costar in the movie along with the late actress.”
The film’s producer and writer, Joe Colleran, claims the late star “pulled off one of the spookiest scenes in the movie.”
He adds:
“There’s an important scene where her character is unraveling and she spent a long time getting ready and focused and went for it. Personally, I think it’s one of the best scenes of her career.”
While Orange is the New Black‘s second season isn’t set to premiere until June 6th, the cast sure knows how to get fans geared up. Sunday, the cast and producers hit up PaleyFest and unveiled some details about the upcoming season.
Topics ranged from the cast’s newfound fame, to the future of Chapman and her fiance Larry. They also spoke about the show’s newest character Vee, who will be played by Law and Order’s Lorraine Toussaint.
Vee is described as a “street-wise drug maven.” Toussaint spoke on the role, stating:
“Jenji has written one of the more complex characters I’ve ever played, and probably one of the more difficult characters I’ve played. I think it’ll be interesting seeing how this character is received, because Jenji has written a character that plays and enjoys the game, and is incredibly engaging and draws people into her — into the big game and has — I have a great deal of fun.”
For all you Paranormal Activity and Blair Witch Project fans, be sure to check out the film Alien Abduction, set to hit theaters on April 4th. The film is based on the real-life Brown Mountain Lights phenomenon in North Carolina, and centers around a family enjoying a simple camping trip before they come across an alien threat.
