So there’s a 55-pound, 8-month-old baby named Santiago living in Colombia.

Maybe that doesn’t sound ridiculous, but let’s put things into perspective here; 55 pounds is the average weight of a 5-year-old. Moreover, an 8-month-old baby should weigh in at about 17 pounds, which means Santiago is three times the size of other babies his age.

Yeah, he’s that big.

Santiago isn’t this size because of medical reasons — apparently he was just overfed. Doctors, concerned about his weight, have put the adorable cherub on a strict diet of fruits and vegetables, saying he needs to lose nearly 40 pounds to reach his healthy weight.

And we’re hoping he reaches that goal. After all, in all his cuteness, there’s nothing adorable about childhood obesity and the health problems associated with it.
