If you were hoping to see Lady Gaga in the buff, sorry to disappoint, but you’ve come to the wrong place. She did, however, strip down for the second issue of Porter, Net-A-Porter’s print magazine, but not in the way you would think.

But first, we need to talk about her outfits above for a second. Mother Monster celebrated her 28th birthday on Friday all weekend long in looks that were incredibly Gaga in nature. From serving Yeti realness to morphing into a mermaid, we wouldn’t have had it any other way.

Porter, however, showed the singer in a new light and presented her in a way we wouldn’t mind seeing more often. Since its inception, editor Lucy Yeomans set out to give readers a more personal look at celebrities, starting with Gisele Bündchen back in February. Now, Lady Gaga’s the next to be exposed.

There’s no theatrical makeup, wacky wigs or ski masks for Mother Monster to hide behind on this cover. Instead, we see a made-under Gaga wearing a touch of mascara and lip gloss beneath her wispy hair.

“It is often easy to forget that there is actually a young woman – and an exceptional musician – behind the wigs and the costumes, the hype and the theatrics,” said Yeomans. “With these pictures, we wanted to reveal the woman behind the Lady, the artist behind the artifice.”

You can get your hands on a copy when it hits stands on April 4, but first, see a few shots from her spread and watch Lady Gaga intimate and on-the-scene in the video below.
