This week marks the 20-year anniversary of the death of Kurt Cobain, the iconic leader of Nirvana.

Even two decades later, he’s still in music fans’ thoughts.

This is the reason why we might see the story of Nirvana get turned into a Broadway play, a la Green Day.

In an interview with NME, Courtney Love, Kurt’s widow, talked about the prospect of a play celebrating her late husband’s life:

“After being swarmed by tons of Nirvana fan mail and social media posts pushing for a musical to become a reality, both Frances [Bean Cobain] and I have thought long and hard and agreed that if we can reach up to the highest shelf and select a team of the greatest and most respected writers, producers and directors, then a Broadway musical is very likely to happen.”

Courtney continued, saying that the process is “really scary because I don’t have an agent, and I really need a heavy-hitter who can protect me from it all.” Courtney also said that a play would be for their daughter, Frances.

First a Tupac play and now this?
