Today in “Stories from Florida,” we have a couple of Floridians who should probably go back to driving school.

Actually, they should definitely go back to driving school.

Drive-Thru Pharmacy:

An 84-year-old woman drove her car through a Florida CVS this week while trying to back out of a parking space.

Yep, that happened. And you can watch the insane video above.

While trying to maneuver her vehicle out of the space, the woman struck a Chevy Suburban. Her husband got out to check the damage, but for some unknown reason, she rammed the gas and crashed through the front of the store, narrowly missing a shopper who leaned forward just seconds before the accident.

Thankfully, there were no serious injuries. Except to someone’s wallet — damage is at an estimated $64,000. Read about it here…[WTSP]

Slap On The Wrist:

An elderly woman who killed three and injured four in a February car crash will have her license suspended and will have to pay a $1,000 fine.

Doreen Landstra, 79, will not serve time in jail. In fact, she’ll be allowed to renew her license after a year on the condition that she goes to driving school and passes Department of Motor Vehicle tests.

But one of the victim’s loved ones isn’t so sure about the judge’s questionable sentence.

The victims, 80-year-old Johanna Dijkhoff, 72-year-old Margaret Vanderlaan, and 70-year-old Wilhemina Paul were all killed in what the Florida Highway Patrol has called an accident.

“I had just walked away and heard the crash and the screams,” Wilhelmina’s widower, John Paul, told the station. “I ran back, I did not realize my wife was on the ground.”

“She should have had her license removed immediately and she should have stopped driving years ago,” he said. “That’s the reason for the tragedy.”
