For years we’ve all been wondering if Nicki Minaj and Safaree are an item, and we thought we’d finally had them all figured out – that is, until now.
The two rumored love birds spent a ton of time in Cabo together last month with friends, both wearing what looked like matching wedding bands on their ring fingers, with Nicki even fueling the relationshiop rumors by captioning one flick of a teddy bear and flowers:
“Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. #Year10”
Last night, however, the Barbie boss was singing a different tune. She posted this photo:
With the caption:
“it’s the only thing I’m in a relationship with ;)”
That’s pretty hard to believe, especially because Nicki has so many different personalities… Roman, is that you?!
Meanwhile, Hot 97’s Peter Rosenberg recently dished on his 2012 beef with the YMCMB female rapper, revealing the backstory and his issue with rappers doing blatant pop music.
If you’ll recall, he referred to her song “Starships” as “bullshit” during a rant at 2012 Summer Jam, so Nicki canceled her performance.
Rosenberg told Radiolab:
“I thought she was really good, in fact I though she was the total package. The year before it all happened, I pulled her aside at Summer Jam [2011] and I said, ‘Hey, I think you could be the greatest female artist of all time, the greatest female rapper of all time. And I just want you to know in thinking that, I’m going hold you to a high standard so I probably will say things about you.’”
He continued:
“Starships is a blatant pop song so I didn’t like the song. In the moment it felt like, you’re a Hip Hop star, why would you do this? This is not for us. When core Hip Hop artists make pop songs it upsets me because it can be a moment that blurs and messes up Hip Hop.”
