The women of UConn have joined their fellow basketball team as NCAA champions. The Huskies defeated Norte Dame 79-58 for their fifth undefeated season. The ladies have also made history along with the male basketball team by being the first Division I men and women teams to win the title. They also took the title back in 2004. [Courant

A report from the Treatment Advocacy Center has reported that there are 10 times as many people with mental illnesses in jail than in state hospitals. With over 200,000 people in jail compared to the 35,000 people with a mental illness reported in 2012, the report states that the inmates are likely to commit suicide due to the lack of care and knowledge of mental illnesses in prison.  [Mother Jones

James Holmes, the man responsible for the Aurora Theater Shooting in 2012 is requesting that his trial be moved to a neutral location. Holmes killed 26 people in a Colorado movie theater during a screening of The Dark Knight. Holmes’ trial is set to begin October 14. [People

A Long Island man isn’t happy that his mother who suffers from Alzheimer’s and dementia was entertained by a male stripper at her nursing home. Franklin Youngblood is suing the East Neck Nursing Center for “the perverse pleasure and enjoyment of the Defendant’s staff” after he found a photo of his mother putting dollar bills down a strippers underwear. The nursing home claims that the event was done in “good faith” and was also approved by all 16 members of the activity board. [Gawker
