Damn, another one lost.

Chief Keef’s cousin, rapper Blood Money, real name Mario Hess, was shot and killed last night in the West Englewood neighborhood in Chicago.

Sadly, the 30-year-old rapper was killed two weeks after he signed a major label deal with Interscope records, according to his manager and cousin Renaldo Reuben Hess.

According to ABCLocal, here’s how the shooting went down:

“Renaldo Hess said his cousin was on his way to the studio and stopped to talk to some girls in a car when someone walked up and shot him. Renaldo Hess says there was no known motive.

Police said Mario Hess, 30, was shot and killed about 9:30 p.m. in the 5600 block of South Elizabeth Street. He was found lying on a sidewalk with a gunshot wound to the chest.

He was taken to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County, where he died at 10:29 p.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.”

Chief Keef has been relatively quiet about Blood Money’s death. He did post a picture of his cousin on Instagram:

GBE member Fredo Santana took to Twitter to show respect:

Blood Money’s name has been ringing over the last couple of years. The rapper was featured on Chief Keef”s “Fuck Rehab.” Last year, Blood Money released three mixtapes, Choppa Talk, Drug Wars and Gangland.
