Ugh. Bangs. They always seem like a good idea at first, but when it comes to maintaining them, that’s where the real challenge begins. But when you’re Michelle Obama, not even a bad hair day can stop her from being First Lady fly.
What the First Lady wants, the First lady gets, and what she got were custom-made jeweled headbands to help her keep her tresses in place when she’s too busy jet-setting to China and working on her own health initiatives to be bothered with a few flyaways.
Per WWD, Michelle’s got a real thing for the hair accessory from luxury brand Wolford, so she had her people get in touch with their people to create headbands for her in a variety of colors:
“[Her personal stylist] was always coming to the store and eventually it was no longer a secret that she was shopping for Michelle Obama. Now she comes to the [New York] showroom where we came up with the idea of custom-jewelled headbands.…Michelle Obama also likes to wear the headbands when she’s traveling because it’s so easy to just pull your hair back and look stylish,” said Jenny Altman, a rep for the brand.
No, you can’t get your hands on one of her Sparkle Fatal headbands as they aren’t available for purchase, but you can find the $46 classic Fatal headband here.
