Jesse Boykins III may not be a household name just yet, but he’s definitely on his way there.

The Chicago-bred singer/songwriter has already toured the world and dropped numerous EPs at the tender age of 29 years old. Boykins recently stopped by the No Judgment Zone and chatted with BlogXilla about everything from losing girlfriends, to being a non-believer in dating. When asked how he lost past girlfriends, Boykins replied:

“You transition, you progress. The majority of the reasoning behind that was ego.”

He also dropped some relationship jewels and revealed that his upcoming album is about accepting someone’s flaws for the sake of love.

“[Girls] put the pressure on you. Then it’s like ‘We’re not friends anymore.’ Now I’m trying to live up to this fantasy of what you think I should be, when I don’t even know who I am yet, and you don’t know who you are yet. So let’s just figure it out together. That’s what the album’s about.”

Jesse Boykins III’s EP Love Apparatus is in stores now. Check out the rest of the interview in the video above.
