Following the news that a Long Island teenager was accepted to all eight Ivy League schools, a North Carolina teen is serving up some competition.

Patrick Peoples, a senior at Lyceum Academy of New Hanover High School, will have a tough decision to make once he decides which of seven Ivy League schools he’ll attend in the fall.

Patrick admitted his surprise, saying he never thought he’d be accepted to all of them. What’s making the choice harder? Besides his pick of seven Ivy League schools, he’s also been accepted to Duke and UNC.

“It means that my mom has done something right, and it also means that I’ve also had to work very hard to get here, and it hasn’t been handed to me, and sometimes you have to work several times harder than other people to get to the same spot,” Patrick said.

The scholar hasn’t made a choice (his deadline is May 1), but he does know he won’t go into his freshman year as an undeclared major. He’s hoping to receive a degree in public policy and economics.

Clearly, this guy has a plan for life.

Congratulations and the best of luck.
