Justin Bieber just can’t stay out of trouble.

The 20-year-old was detained at LAX on Thursday after trying to re-enter the United States following a trip to Asia.

The Canadian-born pop star spent four hours being questioned by immigration officials before he was released and told he could leave the airport. Justin and his team were swarmed by paparazzi and supportive fans as they left the terminal. Loyal Beliebers showed up wielding signs that read, “free Justin Bieber.”

This isn’t the first time immigration has hassled Justin. The singer was stopped back in January in a New Jersey airport after returning from a trip to his native country.

The troubled star was allegedly stopped because of the two on-going criminal cases he had at the time. According to U.S. law, the government can monitor anyone traveling to the United States from other countries if they’re facing convictions or have an active case against them.

It is highly likely that the star will continue to be stopped due to his high-profile status and very public legal issues.

At the time of his detainment, Justin was returning from a two-day stay in Japan. As is often the case with J-Biebs, even his short trip was riddled with controversy. Justin came under fire after sharing a photo of a controversial Japanese shrine that he had mistaken for a place of worship.

Because of his little trip, Bieber’s lawyer asked that his DUI case in Florida be delayed until July so they could further review the evidence. They’re hoping to strike a plea deal in the case.

Until then, we suggest Justin stop plane-hopping.
