As the LA Clippers try to focus on the playoffs in light of the Donald Sterling scandal, there’s a long list growing of people who want to take the Clippers off Sterling’s hands.

Immediately after NBA commissioner Adam Silver banned Sterling for life because of his racial comments, he also noted that he would try his hardest to get Sterling to sell the team.

Check out who’s been talking a big game.

Diddy

Diddy commented via Twitter about his desire to buy the team – and many others followed suit.

Floyd Mayweather

In a press conference this week about his upcoming match with Carlos Maidana, Floyd Mayweather  suggested that he and fellow billionaires should get together to bid on the team.

Dr. Dre

Dr. Dre told TMZ this week that he is thinking about buying the team.

Dr. Dre tells TMZ Sports … he’s ‘absolutely’ interested in buying the L.A. Clippers when the NBA forces Donald Sterling to sell the team … and he seems very serious about it. ‘I’m thinking about it … yes,’ Dre told us on his way in to Boa Steakhouse in L.A. last night.

Frankie Muniz

Malcolm in the Middle star Frankie Muniz also shared his interest in the team. His gesture may seem like it’s out of left field, but the actor has always been a huge fan of the Clippers. During his time on Malcolm in the Middle, he would request that some shots be worked around the the team’s schedule so he could go to the games. Talk about dedication!

Magic Johnson

Magic Johnson explained his disgust in Sterling’s comments and denounced rumors that he wanted to buy the team. As the week continued and more information was released on Sterling, the NBA great sang a different tune, claiming that fans want him to put in a bid.

“I think the fans have already spoken,” Johnson said. “They would like us to own the team. But we have to wait and see.”

Oprah

Even Oprah is getting in on the action.

Oprah Winfrey’s spokesperson, Nicole Nichols, confirmed in an e-mail to USA TODAY Sports that she is part of an interested group that would be the perfect social counterpunch to the below-the-belt shot that Sterling landed with his comments.

“Oprah Winfrey is in discussions with (entertainment mogul) David Geffen and (Oracle CEO) Larry Ellison to make a bid for the Los Angeles Clippers, should the team become available,” Nichols wrote.

And comedienne Mindy Kaling has some good ideas.

With the Clippers worth a reported $525 million dollars and growing, let’s see which celebrity is willing to put their money where their mouth is.
