To us, the Met Gala is the Oscars of fashion or the Super Bowl of style, but for others, it was just another date night–and a very expensive one, at that. In previous years, designers normally pair up with a celebrity and muse of their choosing, but this year, some of Hollywood’s hottest couples decided to forgo the norm and walk hand-in-hand in haute couture.

For the evening, New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art was filled with fashion’s finest, but it was the power couples of the red carpet who left a real lasting impression–because what’s more flattering than the look of love?

Actually, there is something better: love dressed up in Givenchy, a la Beyoncé and Jay Z. It was matching monochrome for the duo, who were crazy in love on the red carpet. He opted for a black and white tuxedo that perfectly complimented her beaded gown that swept us all watching at home off our feet. We’re absolutely enamored by its sheer perfection.

Meanwhile, Kim Kardashian had a leg up and out in Lanvin. Remember her couch couture from last year’s ball? OK, how could anyone ever really forget that. Well, this was her chance to redeem herself. Sure, she erred on the side of caution this year, but it’s a vast improvement, no? And praise Yeezus, because the man looked G.O.O.D.

As you can already see, hip-hop had the red carpet on lock last night. Fashion killas A$AP Rocky and Chanel Iman were no exception. She slipped into a silver satin gown from Topshop, while he matched her fly with a silver grill.

And here’s a little more bling bling, this time brought to you by Chrissy Teigen. Her Swarovski-covered Ralph Lauren gown shimmered alongside John Legend, who kept it classic in a white-tie suit. Ugh. They’re so good-looking it hurts.

OK, this also hurts. How hot were David and Victoria Beckham? White hot. The master of minimalism kept it classy in one of her own designs–of course–to match her hubby’s coat jacket. She finished her look off with very little diamond jewelry–who needs it when she’s got that fine specimen on her arm?

Gisele Bundchen was absolutely stunning in a black Balenciaga dress. The plunging neckline and lace were both sexy and sophisticated, just like her hubby Tom Brady.

Johnny Depp and Amber Heard took the “white tie and decorations” theme very seriously. No complaints, here though! Her gold Giambattista Valli gown was perfect for the occasion, but the only thing better was that cane. Very debonair, Mr. Depp.

Now this is how you do glam. Blake Lively was gorgeous in a gold Gucci gown. While most of the male attendees opted for classic suits, Ryan Reynolds switched things up in a navy-blue velvet tuxedo.

If anyone needs a date to next year’s gala, I am definitely available. Seriously.
