Everybody has a story.

Justin Timberlake joins the A-list roster of celebrities who opened up about their lives on Oprah’s Master Class. The 34-year-old Grammy Award-winning singer reflects on the very beginning of his career, including his childhood gig on Disney’s Mickey Mouse Club.

Surprisingly, Justin revealed he didn’t fit in at school because of his love for R&B soul. The “TKO” singer talks about growing up in Memphis, saying:

“I didn’t fit in so much with the black kids because I was white, plain and simple; and I didn’t fit in so much with the white kids because I liked what was so-called ‘black music,’ but growing up there I always felt like I was different.”

He also talks about his appearance on the ’90s hit talent series Star Search, his big break with ‘N Sync, and transitioning into adulthood. Watch Justin’s candid episode in the video above.
