The Cannes Film Festival is now underway, and we’re giddy for all the glitz and glamour there is to look forward to–but if we can be honest with you, we still haven’t been able to get the 2014 Met Gala off our minds. We’ve all had our say as to the very best dressed of the ball, but now Vogue is finally weighing in on the who/wear/what of the sartorial soiree.
The winners? Rihanna AND Beyoncé. That’s right–the American fashion bible just couldn’t settle on one, as Social Editor Chloe Malle explained to the New York Post:
“When we fell upon the photo of Rihanna AND Beyoncé, we thought, ‘Bingo.’”
But, can you really blame them?
RiRi was unapologetically white hot while showing some skin (and her nipple rings) in a cropped top and skirt from Stella McCartney, Bey had us crazy in love with her beaded Givenchy gown that was sheer perfection. Note: Neither of them followed the dress code–they broke the rules and still prevailed, though, as they take their place side by side on the cover of the 132-page special edition, which is on stands today.
