Officials at Rikers Island Jail are under fire after a mentally ill man locked in a cell for seven days died alone. After Bradley Ballard made a lewd gesture to a female guard at the facility, he was locked alone in his cell, denied his medication, clogged his toilet and tied a rubber band around his genitals. A New York teacher was fired this week after officials learned she had been getting dating advice from her fourth-grade students. Yep, that happened. From DNA Info: Investigators say Cassendre Fiering acted out scenarios in which the kids were her and she was the boyfriends. She complained that the younger boyfriend, a mechanic in Rhode Island, didn’t return her phone calls, according to the report. Students told investigators she called them her “munchkins” and asked her to toilet paper the mechanic’s home, according to the report. Eventually, the students told her to break up with her lover.
