Coldplay Performs At Royce Hall

It’s official, Coldplay has figured out how to move units in this new era of music. All they have to do is drop new music.

Coldplay’s latest LP, Ghost Stories, was the number one album on the Billboard charts this week, selling 383,00 copies in its first week. That mark is the highest number this year, beating out Eric Church’s The Outsiders album, which sold 288,000 copies in its first week back in February.

Ghost Stories is the fourth straight number one album for the group. It is, however, also the group’s lowest mark at number one. By comparisons, their 2011 album, Mylo Xyloto, pulled 447,000 in its first week.

Rounding out the top five this week is Brantley Gilbert’s Just As I Am, Michael Jackson’s Xscape, the Frozen Soundtrack and The Black Keys’ Turn Blue.
