Last night, a private plane ran off the runway while taking off at the Hanscom Field Airport in Bedford, Massachusetts, resulting in the deaths of all seven people who were on board.

According to The Boston Globe, the plane was heading to Atlantic City, N.J., when the disastrous take-off (which occurred around 9:40 PM) cost the passengers their lives.

The names of the victims on board have not been released, but the Massachusetts State Police have already started investigating the deathly crash.

A spokesman for the Massachusetts Port Authority told Boston.com:

‘‘There were no survivors,’’ Brelis said. ‘‘Our thoughts and prayers are with the people on board and their loved ones.’’

While authorities are still unsure about what exactly caused the plane to run off the runway, there were witnesses who recall seeing a huge fireball.

One witness told the site:

‘‘I heard a big boom, and I thought at the time that someone was trying to break into my house because it shook it,’’ said Patterson’s son, 14-year-old Jared Patterson. ‘‘I thought someone was like banging on the door trying to get in.’
