OVO first announced the upcoming “Houston Appreciation Weekend” festival on Twitter back in March. Two months later, Drake is finally blessing his fans with details about the upcoming event.
Taking place between June 12th-15th, festivities will include everything from an OVO pop-up shop that’ll have hype beasts going crazy, to a live concert featuring a slew of guest performers – including Lil Wayne. The premiere of Kevin Hart‘s new movie Think Like a Man Too is also listed as an event, with the comedian set to co-host the after party.
Drake first linked up with YMCMB‘s Lil Wayne in Houston back in 2009 (the date of their first meeting is immortalized in Drizzy’s song “November 18th”). The Toronto native has also frequently listed Houston as a source of inspiration for his music. Even with the new schedule at hand, there’s no telling what surprises Drizzy will have in store for us next weekend.
