On a beautiful Wednesday night in New York City, Kimora Lee Simmons, was honored for her generosity and kindness for the young, indienous people of Venezuela, as The Wayúu Tayá Foundation, founded by supermodel Patricia Velasquez, blessed her with a very special award. The Wayúu Tayá Foundation was founded in 2002 to help improve the lives of Latin-American indigenous communities while maintaining and respecting their traditions, culture and beliefs. Accompanied by her husband, Tim Leissner, and supported by her former husband, Russell Simmons, Kimora was the special lady of the evening. Even after receiving the award, Kimora and her husband continued to show their genorisity by giving another donation that will sponsor an entire school for 600 young people. Often times the online media focuses on who is dating who and who wore what, but on this night it was all about the incredible heart that Kimora and Time have; not just for Wayúu Tayá, but for so many organizations around the world (earlier this year, they gave $1MILLION to Rush Philanthropic Arts Foundation).
