Jennifer Lopez held an exclusive listening session at the Beats by Dre Store in NYC for her upcoming album A.K.A, due out June 17th – and GlobalGrind was on the scene.

Guests enjoyed brunch and sipped on Belaire Rose cocktails while Jennifer carefully selected tracks off the album to provide the soundtrack.

With each song, she shared a brief story regarding how the track came about. Jennifer revealed how quickly T.I. made it to the studio to record their collaboration “A.K.A.,” after she called him with the idea (he got there in a record-breaking 10 minutes). Jenny, who recently hosted a homecoming concert in the Bronx for fans, also told the crowd that Chris Brown helped co-write “Emotions,” (one of her personal faves). The intimate event was hosted by Karen Civil, and music was provided by DJ Cipha Sounds of Hot 97.

Jennifer was in great spirits, laughing and dancing to all the songs and even telling GlobalGrind how proud she was of the new album:

“There has never been a more special project or special time in my life than this one,” she said.

Since the beginning of her career, Jennifer Lopez has continuously beaten the odds and it wasn’t because of luck – J.Lo knew what she wanted and worked her ass off to get it.

From her debut album On the 6 to her tenth record A.K.A., Jennifer has been on a non-stop ride towards a successful music career, with zero plans of slowing down.
