Guess who was grinding in Hollywood behind the scenes?

President Obama told PEOPLE in 2012 that his eldest daughter, Malia, had expressed some interest in filmmaking. And her dreams became a reality yesterday as she spent the day in the role of a production assistant on the set of Halle Berry’s new CBS sci-fi thriller Extant.

She commented on the experience:

“My first time. This is a big deal!”

An insider told the Wrap that her PA gig duties for the day consisted of helping with computer shop alignments and that the director made her experience a lot more exciting by letting her slate a take.

The White House declined to comment, but First Lady Michelle Obama feels Malia has time to test the waters and explore her options.

“Just like her father, she is an avid reader, and she enjoys movies. But she’s a freshman, so she also knows she has years in college to explore her interest,” she said.

Stay on your grind, Malia!

Just last week, we reported casting news for the upcoming N.W.A. biopic, Straight Outta Compton. O’Shea Jackson Jr. was cast to play his dad Ice Cube, and now according to The Hollywood Reporter, the director, F. Gary Gray, has actors for the roles of Dr. Dre and Eazy-E.

Dre will be played by Marcus Callender, an alum of New York’s Shakespeare Lab at the Public Theater. Apparently, director Gray wanted Fruitvale Station star Michael B. Jordan to play the role, but he was too busy filming for the Fantastic Four reboot.

In the role of Eazy-E, we have… Jason Mitchell. He doesn’t have much experience but, hey, this could be his big break.

The Tonight Show kept us up all last night with its mashup of NBC news anchor Brian Williams performing the 1992 Sir Mix-a-Lot booty bouncer “Baby Got Back.”

This is only one of the Jimmy Fallon production team’s mashups, but this is one you sure don’t want to miss.

Director of Game of ThronesAlex Graves, spilled the beans about Season 5 on Sunday in an exclusive interview with The Hollywood Reporter.

During the interview, he spoke about where Arya is headed next year, and (SPOILER ALERT) about the death scene of Shae and Tywin and how his emotions got involved.

He also teased us with some info on Daenerys, claiming she is headed for a rocky road in Season 5.

“You are very much setting up next year, laying out that she is now alone,” Graves says. “Everyone she had on the way up has been banished or sent away. She is in a very, very dark place that’s going to lead into next year.”

Brian “Astro” Bradley and Naturi Naughton made a special appearance at the Holly Robinson Peete screening of Earth to Echo last night. The screening took place at the Pacific Theaters at THE GROVE in Los Angeles, CA.

Directed by Dave Green, Earth to Echo hits theaters July 2nd.
