It seems like if you don’t have a smartphone, you’re the oddball out, and now that Amazon has unveiled their own Fire Phone, there’s another option on the market if you’re just not an Apple person.

Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos revealed the Fire Phone at an event in Seattle earlier today. Amazon couldn’t have picked a tougher time, especially with the unveiling of the new iPhone 6 coming to stores this fall. But Bezos explained how this smartphone differs from its competition.

Fire Phone is a bit bigger than the iPhone but has a high-definition camera, 3-D features that also tie into the camera function, fast “firefly” technology and a supply of mobile apps, which will be exclusively offered at the Amazon app store.

Of course, there are a lot of opinions about the phone. In its early stages, the Fire Phone received mixed reviews, but Amazon has continued to improve its technology.

Like most smartphones these days, it’s going to cost a bit. Plan options are solely with AT&T mobile at this time, and will run anywhere from $199-649.

Whether Amazon can outrun Steve Jobs and Apple is still up for discussion. In the meantime, check out what the Fire Phone has to offer before it hits stores in July. You can pre-order the phone and check out the features in detail on the Amazon site today.
