Mac Miller‘s changed a lot since “Nike’s On My Feet.”

Since outgrowing his ‘high school rapper’ persona, the 22-year-old Pittsburgh rapper’s music has taken on a more introspective quality. Though he has yet to put out a record as successful as his early, sillier songs like “Donald Trump,” Mac’s youthful energy mixed with age and experience has arguably made him a more interesting and multidimensional rapper.

His latest track is an ‘OG version’ of “The Star Room,” the opener of his critically acclaimed LP Watching Movies with the Sound Off. The remixed version features a low-key, sleepy instrumental produced by Earl Sweatshirt, and a more relaxed delivery from Mac. This is music to stare out a bus window and contemplate life to.
