Michael K. Williams, who floored audiences with his debut role as Omar on The Wire, has solidified his place in the industry after starring as Chalky White in Boardwalk Empire on HBO for five seasons. He even landed a supporting role in 12 Years a Slave.

The seasoned actor stopped to talk with BlogXilla at The Purge Breakout Experience in New York, and chatted about his role in the new sequel, The Purge: Anarchy.

In the film, Williams plays a character who he thinks is “revolutionary,” and a mixture between Malcolm X, Huey P. Newton, and maybe a little bit of Tupac.

He talks the race and class “elephants in the room” in The Purge, about Boardwalk Empire coming to a close, having loved and lost, future projects, and MKW even entertains the idea of The Purge becoming a trilogy.

Check out the interview above. The Purge: Anarchy hits theaters July 18.
