A San Francisco civil court awarded no damages to Oscar Grant Jr. who filed the federal lawsuit against Mehserle for the loss of his son. Oscar was killed in January 2009 when Mehserle mistakenly pulled out his gun instead of his taser and shot the young father in his back. Last month the Bay Area Transit Railroad Transit settled a suit with Oscar’s mother and daughter for $2.3 million.
