Looks like the Chef is cooking something up.
Wu-Tang Clan-affiliate Raekwon recently signed a publishing deal with Scion Three Music, a division of Memory Lane Music Group. The deal, arranged by Anel Pla and Mike Connis of S.W.A.P. Management, comes right as Raekwon prepares to release his sixth studio album, F.I.L.A.- Fly International Luxurious Art.
MLMG President Mark Spier commented on the recent deal, saying “Raekwon is a rap legend…He’s been a driving force in the genre since the Hip-Hop explosion of the ’90s, and we couldn’t be more excited to partner with him.”
After a reconciliation with RZA, Raekwon confirmed he will in fact be working with Wu-Tang Clan on their highly anticipated album A Better Tomorrow, along with six other surviving members of the legendary New York-based supergroup. Meanwhile, Raekwon will be headlining New York’s 10th annual Brooklyn Hip-Hop Festival along with Jay Electronica on July 12th, and kicking off a European tour at the Dour Festival in Dour, Belgium, July 17-20.
His album F.I.L.A. will be released later this year; stay tuned for a taste of what Chef is brewing up for us.
