The soulful darlings are Chrisette Michele and Leela James. These ladies ruled the 2000s with their organic approach to R&B and serenading songs that earned them glowing reviews and awards. The ladies recently spoke to TV One’s Roland S. Martin about joining the eclectic cast.

“I’m expecting to have a good time,” Michele said. “And second of all, I want to show people what it’s like to put all of these songs together, to see the process and how much work that actually goes into it as songwriters and composers.”

James was also excited about the upcoming journey with her fellow R&B Divas.

“I’m expecting to have a great time and make great relationships and to showcase all of the talents that the divas have in a very positive way.”

These singers are sure to bring the good vibes to a very hot and heavy season. For those who aren’t familiar with Michele and James, here’s a quick 411 on what you need to know.

Chrisette Michele came into the game in 2007 with her debut album I Am. The Grammy nominated album spawned the hits “Be Okay,” “Love Is You,” “If I Have My Way,” and “Best of Me.” Michele has also worked with hip-hop superstars like Jay Z, Nas, Game, and Wale

The singer has also seen success with her previous albums Epiphany, Let Freedom Ring, and recent effort, Better. Michele loves to post her favorite moments from touring on Instagram and keeps her fans updated about her music. The down-to-earth New Yorker will provide the LA cast with some serious sunshine.

Cali native Leela James made waves in 2005 with her debut album, A Change is Gonna Come. James’ big voice and impeccable songwriting abilities have garnered her comparisons to bombshells Tina Turner and Chaka Khan. The singer has toured the world, sharing her music with acts like Macy Gray and the Black Eyed Peas.

Refusing to be put in a box, James’ third album My Soul proved her ability to do more than just the typical R&B ballad. Her latest album Fall For You is sure to do the same .
