Israeli troops have picked up steam in their Gaza offensive early Friday morning as they push deeper into Hamas-ruled territory. Israel’s Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, said they are targeting tunnels that Gaza militants use to store weapons and seek shelter from Israeli airstrikes. The military has also released footage showing tanks and soldiers entering Gaza to locate and destroy these underground tunnels. Read about it here…[USA Today]

Hobby Lobby strikes again, but this time they’re discriminating against a transgender employee. Meggan Sommerville, who works at an Aurora, Illinois Hobby Lobby store, filed a complaint to the Illinois Department of Human Rights (IDHR) in 2011 when they wouldn’t allow her to use the women’s bathroom. Although Sommerville’s state ID and even her health benefits provided by the company recognize her as a woman, they refuse to let her use the women’s restroom unless she has a sex reassignment surgery. A 12-year-old boy from Florida was arrested for the second time this month after stealing a school bus. Michael Propst was arrested back in June for stealing a Bay District school bus and taking a ride to Walmart. This time Propst stole a car from his aunt and took it to Parker Elementary. After taking the bus, he drove it for more than two hours to Franklin County, where officials were alerted that a juvenile was driving a school bus. Read more about it here…[UPI.com]

Federal authorities have charged FedEx Corp. with assisting illegal pharmacies in delivering dangerous drugs to customers without a prescription. The Department of Justice announced the charges Thursday alleging that the Memphis, Tennessee shipping company conspired with two related online pharmacies for 10 years, ending in 2010. The major shipping company is accused of transporting the powerful sleeping aid Ambien, anti-anxiety drugs Valium and Xanax, and other drugs to customers with no legitimate medical need, lacking valid prescriptions.
