LA Clippers forward Matt Barnes is using the power of social media to help catch the man who killed his aunt in broad daylight.

According to the Sacramento Bee, Barnes’ aunt, Tanganyika Williams, was killed by her estranged husband of one year, Michael Williams. Police claim that after a heated argument, Williams stabbed the 38-year-old on the streets of Sacramento. Williams died on the way to the hospital.

“David Williams Jr. said the victim was his mother. She was found shortly before 8 a.m. Tuesday on the sidewalk near 24th Street and Meadowview Road with a stab wound to the upper body and later died at an area hospital…..Police described Michael Williams, 51, as a transient and said he may be hiding in the south Sacramento area near 24th Street and Florin Road. He is described as 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighing about 220 pounds, with brown eyes and hair that is a little longer than shown in photos.”

Barnes shared photos of his aunt’s killer on Instagram and Twitter in an effort to catch the man. Police have also posted flyers throughout Sacramento to get the word out.

Eldest son David Williams says that his mother was a peaceful woman and had plans to open up her own daycare.

“My mom was a happy-go-lucky person who always liked to smile and have fun,” said Williams. “She loved her children and her grandchildren.”

The family has set up a GoFundMe to raise $5,000 for her funeral. Prayers are with Barnes and his family during this difficult time.
