A real-life episode of The Walking Dead occurred this past weekend at the annual Comic-Con event held in San Diego, California.

A 64-year-old woman has been hospitalized after being hit by a deaf driver during the annual ZombieWalk. During the walk, the man and his children, who were also deaf, were stopped to let the crowd pass through. Because participants were dressed up as zombies, the children began to get scared and their father tried to get out of the area. Gossip Cop reports:

According to a police news release, the crowd reacted angrily when he started to move his vehicle, and “several people from the crowd of zombies and other marchers surrounded and began punching the car. Several of them climbed onto the car and beat on the car. The car windshield was shattered by the crowd,” says the San Diego Police Department.

The woman suffered arm injuries after being struck by the car when the man tried to escape the scene. The crowd proceeded to chase the man as he continued to drive towards the police officer. Although no one was arrested, police are still investigating the incident.

Our prayers go out to the victim hospitalized. What a scary sight that must have been.
