Days after ESPN host Stephen A. Smith suggested women are to blame for provoking domestic abuse, the network has suspended him. “ESPN announced today that Stephen A. Smith will not appear on First Take or ESPN Radio for the next week. He will return to ESPN next Wednesday,” ESPN spokesman Josh Krulewitz wrote in a statement emailed to For The Win. Smith made the controversial comments on First Take last week when discussing the suspension of Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice, who was accused of knocking his girlfriend unconscious. Another top doctor battling the largest outbreak of Ebola in history has died. Sheik Umar Khan, who was credited with treating more than 100 patients, died on Tuesday. Early Wednesday morning, torrential rains triggered a landslide that buried a remote village in western India. Officials say at least 10 are dead and another 150 are believed to be trapped underneath debris. The massive landslide swept away houses and roads, hampering rescue efforts to find survivors.
